A quick Google search for Sushiro in Singapore will throw up entries about the chirashi don eatery at Thomson Plaza, but that’s not what we’re here to talk about. Instead, we’re referring to Japan’s largest conveyor belt sushi chain, which claims to sell about 1.36 billion plates of sushi each year.
The brand, founded in 1984, currently has over 500 outlets in Japan and beyond, reaching diners in Korea and Taiwan as well. Now, it’s coming to Singapore, where it’ll make its Southeast Asian debut at Tiong Bahru Plaza in August.
Citing its commitment to fresh ingredients, Sushiro’s offerings are on the wallet-friendly side, with more than 100 types of sushi items and sides starting from $2.20. The restaurant says its R&D team comes up with more than 600 new creations each year, but only about 70 get to see the light of day after rounds of internal screening.
Not much else has been revealed about its menu here, but expect to see exclusive dishes and seasonal plates on the line-up.
