5 fun things to do in Bali this weekend (June 24-26)

1. CANGGU: Rooftop pool party

If you’re looking to party on Friday night but want something more chilled out than a night at some Kuta nightclub would offer, then head over to Koa D’Surfer Hotel for a pop up party. Rooftop pool with a gorgeous Canggu view and yummies supplied by Lacalaca. Need we say more? Music is covered by resident DJs Lady FLiC, Stu Mac, and Loco Hero, plus entry is free. Granita happy hour featuring frozen cocktails runs from 4-6pm. Slurp!

When: Friday, June 24, 4-11pm

2. SEMINYAK: Sway to one of Indonesia’s best reggae bands

No joke, the reggae community in Indonesia is strong, it being an island nation and all. Experience one our fave Indo reggae bands, Marapu, at Ryoshi, which is offering free entry. Go early and gobble down some sushi, throwback some sake bombs, then just feel the music. Sounds like the perfect evening to us island rasta souls.

Where: Ryoshi Bali, Jl. Raya Seminyak no. 17
Call for reservation: 0361 731 152

Calling all house music lovers, the event for you this weekend is down in Nusa Dua. Agendaz Beach Club in BTDC is hosting La Couleur, “The Colors of House Music.” Entry isn’t free at Rp 150k, but they’ve got some pretty big name DJs along with live-acts and dancers, along with live music by Dee Dice.

4. Canggu: Old Man’s Saturday Market

For some, it’s the most wonderful time of the month! Keeping up with tradition, Old Man’s market will be this weekend for the last Saturday of the month. From art to homeware to jewelry to boutique clothing to local produce, we have a feeling you won’t be leaving empty handed.

When: Saturday, June 25, 8am-3pm
Where: Old Man’s, Batu Bolong

5: CANGGU: Catch a docu and raise money for traditional Dayak dancers

Go to Canggu Club’s newly opened Bistro C to get more familiar with Borneo’s beautiful but marginalized Dayak culture for their Spirit of Borneo Fundraiser. The bistro is screening the documentary Long Saan for free, but of course feel free to show your support by donating or purchasing some of the handicrafts and artwork being displayed. Money will go to volunteers of the Spirit of the Hornbills Dance Academy—a group that works to keep Dayak culture alive through dance. Dance performances and workshops, along with music and storytelling will also be a part of the evening.

When: Sunday, June 26, from 5pm
Where: Bistro C, Canggu Club
table reservation: bistroc@cangguclub.com
